Recap of the weekend

Good Afternoon everyone!

Yes, Tuesday came and went and now it's Thursday. 

It's been busy inside and outside the shop these days.

Last week was homecoming and my son Sam was one of the king candidates.

Mom and I left at 4:30 a.m. for Newton, Iowa to vend at the Hook-In there.  Yes, some say we are crazy (they might be right) ;) but we didn't want to miss the homecoming activities.

We had a great time as usual and it is always good to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.

Mom is on her way to Omaha to vend at a show there.  Dad is taking my spot as I will be attending homecoming festivities at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.

Thistle Down Moon

We have received Maggie B's latest book Thistle Down Moon

As usual it is filled with wonderful primitive projects.  

Book retails for $27.95

This is one of the many projects in the book. 

 I love old pincushions and have already started on this one. 

 So far it's easy to do.......the best kind! 

I could see several of these sitting in my studio. :)

Crisp Fall Morning

Good Morning everyone!

What a beautiful crisp morning it is.

I have another new wool appliqué pattern for you that is new to the shop.

"Best of Show" by Shawn Williams Threads That Bind

Mom is responsible for this one.  She decided to make it into a pillow.  I believe she stuffed it with a little of this and a little of that.  Leftover worms, stuffing, lint etc.

On the backside she decided to add a reverse appliqué pumpkin. 

 It gives you two choices to your pillow instead of one.

Mom did a great job of assembling the pillow.

The pattern retails for $12.00.

OOOPS

Yes, Tuesday has come and gone.

I crawled into bed last night at 10 and realized I hadn't posted on the blog.  I am out of the routine.

I will take just a minute to recap the last few months.

• BYOP  was a success we had beautiful weather and a great attendance.
• New camera, new editing software...........don't know how to run either just yet.
• 3 children in 3 different colleges
• laptop and water bottle DO NOT mix.............new laptop.
• Youngest child is a senior in H.S. (lots of lasts this year)
• Dyeing, dyeing and more dyeing  getting ready for Hook-Ins

Once I figure out how to get pictures from the BYOP out of my editing program I will get them posted so you can see.

We do have new items arriving at the shop.

"Prize Pick" is a 21x15 3/4 wool appliqué piece.  It's my favorite.

I'm back!

DON'T FALL OFF YOUR CHAIR

I have been absent and I am fully aware. 

 Even my husband has been needling me to post something. Which I don't really understand because he is right here experiencing all of the wonderful excitement with me.

I just want you to know that everything is O.K. and I will try and post on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Life is starting to get into a routine here...........it's not settling down that's for sure but I am slowly trying to find a "normal" routine.

Life has kept me busy and I had to make some priorities and blogging was put to the bottom of the list.

I will try and get everyone up to speed tomorrow.

PLEASE find Ewe and Eye on Facebook.  I can do quick posts there when I can't get to the laptop.

First there was one, then two and now three

Good Morning Everyone!

We are adjusting at our house as Natalie is home from college, Sam is still in school, Drew is working for a construction company and I'm trying to feed and keep up with the laundry.  

I'm sharing what happened over the last few weeks.

We had a lot of wind and I had a birds nest (I was using for decoration outside) that blew off so I haphazardly threw it in the planter by the backdoor.

I went to the shop came home and found a Robin's egg in the nest. 

 I thought that Dave had found one while mowing and just threw it in the nest.

The next time I went out the door there were 2 eggs.  

This time I did a double take, pondered the situation and kept walking to the car.

That evening I went out and found a 3rd egg.

Some poor Robin decided to lay her eggs in my planter right by the backdoor of our house.

I'm not sure who has surprised who more? 

 The Robin or the kids.

You can walk out the back door and the poor Robin flies out of the nest and sometimes hits her head on the awning and then poops or the kids come home in the dark and she flies out of the nest and scares them.

Secretly, I kinda like that Mrs. Robin keeps them on their toes! ;) 

 especially when they are late coming home.

Mrs. Robin has actually added to the nest. 

 The white paper comes from the chicken shed and it's what we put in the nesters for the chickens.

Here is the place where Mrs. Robin has made her home.

I really don't want to disturb her so for now my planter is a home.
